Location is ideal for travelling to various places. We enjoyed portsoy and Banff.

"We stayed at Buttermere Cottage, a two bedroom, two full bath (with excellent water pressure) self-catering with easy access to Banff and directions south throughout Aberdeenshire. The large, fully equipped kitchen included a toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine, in addition to the expected kettle, stove, and, here, plates and cutlery service for eight. A lovely welcome basket awaited us in the kitchen with local product samples. For being on a major road (A97), traffic noise in the morning was minor. Rachel and Graham were extremely helpful to us “gringos” right up to texting us the night we were arriving about a road closure so we could reroute. Throughout our stay, they were very responsive if needed, but not at all intrusive at other times. We will happily plan to return to Buttermere Cottage when we return to northern Aberdeenshire."
