"loved the location - in the middle of nowhere so peaceful, calm, beautiful scenery and no light pollution : perfect for star gazing when the clouds allow!
Really well located as short drive to some stunning beaches, but not too far away from other interesting places so we had a wonderful time exploring. Flat was cosy, had all we needed. Our children enjoyed trying out a few of the games. The file was helpful - we had two lovely meals out and both restaurants were super helpful with my son's allergies. Our hosts were brilliant and really helpful with any queries we had. Very grateful for the load of washing they did for us! As a family we voted this week our favourite part of our Scottish holiday. "

Tip:
"book a trip to Staffa with Turus Mara (as suggested by our hosts) - the island was fantastic and we got to land which I didn't expect (due to be closed for renovations). We missed the puffins but saw dolphins on the way back. We then caught the ferry to Ulva - lots of walks to do there but watch the time as the ferry stops at 5:30. We only had a cake from the pub after our walk but the food all looked amazing when we walked past at the start .... made our sandwiches look very dull!
Port na ba is beautiful but is a fair walk so allow time!
Calgary is a fantastic beach - go early as the car park fills up quickly. We saw an otter, sea eagles and loads of tiny crabs.
We did a geology walk with James Westland in Calgary bay - really informative and interesting. The whiskey and marmalade ice cream was also quite good!
We did go to Carvaig beach but the road is very narrow and steep : was extremely grateful we didn't meet any traffic. Very rocky beach.
excellent fish and chips at the Bellachroy - AND they are wheat and egg free so we had a very happy son!
delicious food at Am Birlinn but make sure to book well in advance. lovely setting.
The local shop in Dervaig is well stocked with fresh fruit and veg, but there is also a co-op in Tobermory. "
