"I would highly recommend this campsite. We had a lovely stay, the view is picturesque, it was nice just to sit outside the tent in the morning and listen to the birds!
Free use of washer/dryer which worked well, there was a fridge/freezer which we didn’t use but looked to be good. Showers were hot and clean, toilets were cleaned regularly throughout the day and were clean every time I went. We were greeted by polite and friendly staff who gave us all the information we needed about the campsite facilities and also provided brochures for local sights and activities.
There was a dog exercise area of a decent size, with a secure perimeter and on the other side of the campsite a gate which lets you straight into the Forest of Dean.
If visiting the area we would definitely book again, well worth the money!"

Tip:
"We visited Perrygrove railway which managed to fill an afternoon for us, the kids and the dog, at a very affordable price.

We also visited clearwell caves which were fantastic, very educational and the kids really enjoyed it. Dogs weren’t allowed in the caves themselves but were welcome in the cafe and surrounding woodlands.

The Forest of Dean is lovely for walks and a picnic.

Aldi and Tesco are a short drive away so we were able to get everything we needed for our stay. In Lydney is a cafe called “Hip Social” where we had the best breakfast and coffee any of us have ever had! Portions were small but prices were good and I would highly recommend going during your stay!

We would have liked to visited painswick gardens but unfortunately the weather didn’t permit. "

"I have only given a 4 for location as the paths through the forest were too steep for us. You do need transport to get out to eat of an evening (not your fault) but as my brother had the car it was not a problem for us. Are there any local taxis and/or local takeaway deliveries. Although the weather was awful (not your fault haha) we enjoyed our stay. Thank you."
