"We spent five days staying in Widefirth 2 cottages. The cottage and surrounds were even better than the pictures online. The ambience, the furniture, the finishing touches, and the beautiful green lawns outside...all were fabulous. The instructions getting to the cottage were spot on and easy to follow. The owners touched base to see if everything was going well and they were also a wealth of information for local sites to see. We were from Australia and we also had a local Shetlander with us. He would recommend the stay to his friends back at Shetland, likewise us, to our friends in Australia. One of the best stays I have had. Great kitchen also. Finally, we arrived at 11.30pm off the ferry to find a beautiful welcome gift of some Orkney treats and cheese and a container of milk, not just a tiny little milk. This was perfect for a midnight snack before going to bed and a bite to eat in the morning before heading into Kirkwall to the grocery."

"Second year staying here, everything you could wish for and more, excellent location for visiting all the mainland sights, only 12 miles from Kirkwall with easy access to other island ferries. Will be going back at something. Owners are great and attentive to your needs"

"Convenient for travelling to north of mainland, Broch at Gurness, Brough of Birsay, Marwick bay etc. Also not far to Kirkwall and Stromness. "
