"Widefirth Cottages are a perfect place to stay. The location is great for exploring all parts of the mainland. The cottage is immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated and furnished. It is really comfortable and warm.
It has a lovely garden with beautiful views across the bay to Kirkwall, as well as wildlife, ponies, sheep, goats and hens right on the doorstep. The hosts have created lovely walks down to the shoreline. The information shed has supplies of ice cream, and other treats. It is very hard to fault in any way! "

Tip:
"The Broch of Gurness and Evie Sands are just up the road. Other parts of the mainland are easy to access from this location."

"We stopped for two weeks this being the 2nd so will put same comments as I did for first week.
The welcome package was excellent, the cottage was warm, well equipped, clean and the views spot on.

"Chippy in Finstown. Sea fishing at Evie Pier and just down the road at Puldrite bay."

"Have been stay here since 2005 and would never imagine staying anywhere else, the standards are always very heigh. My latest visit was in November and I arrived to a lovely warm house, the weather was a little rough for a couple of days, but felt warm and cosy inside.
Always very relaxing and sleep well. "

Tip:
"Broch of Gurness is a must it's my favourite place on Orkney.
Fish and chip shop in Finstown is excellent and St. Magnus cafe in Kirkwall.
A trip to Hoy
Really so much so see I can't list them all. "
