"We loved Button-Ben Guest House. May is the ultimate hostess. The breakfast were wonderful, and May couldn't do enough for us, from preparing tea for us on an early departure, to giving us tips on local restaurants and logistics for touring the local attractions. The site is beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the location convenient."

Tip:
"In Stromness, we recommend the Ferry Inn. The St. Magnus is a must-see and the music festival has many wonderful artists."

"Mae is a lovely host and a great cook, who clearly knows the island well. Though the B&B is remote (in that it's not in a town, or walkable), it was easy to find with Apple Maps, and easy to get to and from all over Mainland if you have a car.
Our room was roomy and cozy and we had a wonderful view.
Breakfasts are varied, plentiful, hot, and delicious!
Returning from our day out to a plate of fresh baking was a treat and a delight. I looked forward to seeing what we'd get next."

"Mainland is full of things to do! Whether your interests lie in nature, prehistory, distilleries, wartime history, a massive medieval church, shopping or more - there's something for everyone. We visited another island while there as well, which was easy to do in one day.
We recommend lunch at Judith Glue, across from St. Magnus Kirk in Kirkwall.
Mae has useful information in a binder in your room, and off the top of her head as well."
