"This was by far the loveliest B&B I have ever stayed in. Heather and John are generous and warm hosts who take a great deal of trouble to make sure that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The spacious room with wonderful views of the loch was absolutely pristine and all Covid precautions were taken seriously. There was a great range of choice for breakfast and the food was cooked beautifully. On the day I left early for a trip to Mallaig, Heather supplied me with a very tasty breakfast to go - the croissants and blueberry muffins were still warm and were delicious. This is a small and peaceful B&B and I can't recommend it too highly."

"I was very glad that Heather and John had recommended booking local restaurants as they were certainly very busy and booked up, particularly at the weekend. The trip to Mallaig on Scotrail is much cheaper than on the steam train, and it is the same journey. I returned along the same route and stopped at Glenfinnan on another day - this is a lovely destination in itself with several viewpoints to watch the steam trains and the walk down to Loch Shiel is delightful. Just take a supply of midge spray! Fort William may seem like a destination for those with cars but I travelled there on the train and got around on trains and buses, and found all services very good and manageable (John was also kind enough to pick me up and drop me off at the station at start and finish of my stay). The 41 bus gets you to the Nevis range (£4.50 return) where you can get a gondola up Aonach Mor - the views are really worth it - but if it's good weather it is worth going early as the queues build up later. Restaurants I particularly enjoyed were the Lime Tree (pricey but special) and the Geographer - if you can get in - this one doesn't take bookings but if you go early (5.30pm) there is often no queue."

"Heather and John were excellent hosts, their property is in a great location for Fort William, the views from our room of Loch Linnhe was breathtaking.
The breakfasts were to die for, nothing was too much trouble.
An excellent addition is the ability to get fresh milk out of the fridge when you want to make yourself a drink in your room.
Heather is a mine of information about local sites of interest and further afield."

Tip:
"A boat trip on Loch Linnhe is very informative if you take the seal island trip.
A good tip is to research local eateries and book ahead if you intend to visit during school holiday periods as Fort William gets very busy.
Some restaurants don’t do advance booking so you may have to queue.
We queued outside a bar called the “Tavern” and didn’t have to wait long for a table."
