"Just home from a great break at Brush and Boot. The cottage met our needs perfectly and was ideal for guests with mobility issues with the accessible downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Beautiful location, so very well equipped, spotlessly clean and the perfect place to relax. Our hosts Richard and Kim were very helpful and informative about the local area and made us feel very welcome."

"Had the perfect afternoon tea at nearby Dogh, easy to book in advance. Thoroughly enjoyed the Arboretum at nearby Castle Howard with its perfect woodland walks and ponds, and we were delighted to be able to book a tramper to allow full access to the Arboretum..and free of charge! And not to be missed by history lovers, Eden Camp History Museum outside Malton. What an immersive experience! "

"The setting and accommodation far exceeded our expectations. It is a wonderful place to have peace and quiet and enjoy the best of nature. Footpaths on the doorstep! The house itself is spacious, immaculate and with everything you need having been thought of. Richard was really friendly and helpful in a very genuine way- you don’t always experience that in hosts. We loved it! "

Tip:
"Enjoy the walks from the doorstep! Monks Cross shopping complex was very good. Park and Tide into York easy from there. We enjoyed a walk round Sherif Hutton but disappointed that the deli is now closed for trading. The market at Malton on Saturday was great. "

"Very comfortable and bright cottage with comfortable seating and beds. Very quiet location. Woodland walk from the door. Lovely natural garden with sunny and shaded sitting areas. Access and parking is good. Location is a good base for York, Howards Castle, and further travel to the east coast and the North York moors. We very much enjoyed our stay and were able to extend it."

Tip:
"We recommend using the Park & Ride for visiting York. We highly recommend Goji cafe close to York Minster for vegetarian food - eat in or take out/picnic."
