"A wonderful base for our holiday in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. The cottage was perfect for us. "

"The Sunday roast at the Crown and Cushion in nearby Welburn was outstanding.
Time exploring Castle Howard, both the grounds (paid entry) and the free circular around it, is well spent. Combine the trip by going a little further to Malton, the “Good capital of Yorkshire”!
Catch the park and ride into York to explore the cobbled streets and city walls. We had lunch and picked up delicious authentic sourdough and scones at Brancusi (same menu available next door at Partisan). The Perky Peacock is worth a visit for the atmosphere although the menu is now limited compared to what we saw online. "
