"I fell in love with the cottage within moments of arriving. The photos don't do it justice. It is spacious but cosy at the same time. Everything feels very high end (crockery, linen, towels, furniture, etc) which adds to the lovely feeling of comfort, but is still homely enough to be able to relax and enjoy it all. So well equipped, really helpful information pack. The provisions of milk, tea, washing up liquid etc is perfect - Gina, you said this was "just basic" but we have stayed in places where the host didn't even leave soap in the bathroom sinks so it is appreciated when all of the basics are taken care of. And the bottle of fizzy juice (delicious!) and the tea tray laid out just gave us a lovely welcoming feeling when we stepped through the door, plus you came to say hello and thanked us for staying - this is all part of the welcome pack and is far from "just basic!". It was much appreciated. I love the patio space and garden, I loved that you created an enclosed space which was great for the dog. We enjoyed watching all the birds flying around. It was peaceful and perfect. Honestly can't recommend highly enough and it took some will power to actually leave - I wish we had booked a longer stay! "

Tip:
"The cottage is just of the A7 and about 8 or so miles outside Hawick, so lovely and rural with great links to the road. The enclosed space which is great if you have a dog is for the cottage's exclusive use. It isn't directly outside the cottage so not like a garden as such but it is fully enclosed and escape proof. It was easy enough to put our dog on her lead until she learnt where she was meant to go. The access to the river is shared with and guests of the house. It's a lovely space to go and sit by the water or have a paddle. Access is down a bank so may not be suitable for everyone. We went to Williestruther Loch, Acreknowe Reservoir, Abbotsford House, Wilton Lodge Park and Violet Wood in Hawick, Jedburgh, Scott's View, the William Wallace statue, Kielder Water, the Tweed Valley Forest park - there is so much to see and do in the area that doesn't require you to travel far. All good for dogs as well and lots of places were very dog friendly. I really recommend this cottage - we had a great stay in a lovely area. Take me back!"
