"Adlestrop is a beautiful rural village in the Cotswolds. There are no local pubs or restaurants, just houses and an ancient church. If you do not have a car you must arrange transportation and organize your itinerary with the driver's schedule. Ask the owner for recommendations for a driver before arrival. Because of the location, hiking on the cross-country paths is wonderful. We were close to Dayleford Farms and Lower Oddington. The owner is a fabulous cook and offered several breakfast options each morning. The food was excellent. Our party had 2 rooms, one had a bathroom en suite, the other bathroom was in a hall adjacent to the room, but we had exclusive use of the bathroom. The beds were quite comfortable. Noise is not an issue.
The owner and her husband are quite knowledgeable, well read and well traveled. If you are interested, it is stimulating conversation. The yard is filled with beautiful flowers and trees and is well maintained. Typical of many English B&Bs, guests are expected to remove their shoes when in the home. The owners are not home much of the day and guests are expected to be out and about between 11-4. The owners have 2 dogs which are quite friendly and stay outdoors."

Tip:
"For a driver, ask for David. He is a tour guide as well as a driver and very accommodating if you need a ride. Our favorite restaurants were The Horse and Groom in Oddington and the Blockley Cafe in Blockley. The Fox in Lower Oddington is a good pub and Stow on the Wold has good shopping and numerous dining options. Use the Kingham train station to access Adlestrop. It is a 20 minute train trip to Oxford."

"A very comely location for a stay, with comfortable rooms a lovely dining area with a lounge that has a wood burning stove going. The food is excellent.
If you wish to wake in a dream countryside setting by the noise of early riders taking their horses for morning exercise then this is the place for you.
The owners, Nicola and Chris, are friendliness embodied who are always ready for a chat and are very willing to assist in making your stay more welcoming."

I thoroughly enjoyed going to Hook Norton brewery for a visit. A brewery that is 175 years old and still use Shire horses for some deliveries.
Oxford is easy to visit, particularly by train."
