"I had a lovely two-night stay and would happily stay here again.

The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. There was a great selection of hot drinks with plenty of milk, along with bottled water, glasses, biscuits, a corkscrew and even a small fridge, which was a really nice touch.

I stayed in Room 6, which is one of the more affordable options as it has a private bathroom just across the hallway. The bathroom was very small, and because it's separate from the room I found myself being quite conscious of making noise late at night and early in the morning, particularly with the doors and flushing the toilet. It's worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper or prefer an en-suite.

As I visited during the heatwave, the room was very warm when I arrived, being at the top of the building with the afternoon sun. Keeping the curtains closed helped considerably, and once the temperature outside dropped it became much more comfortable.

Communication from the hosts before my stay was excellent. They kept me well informed throughout, and I really appreciated receiving a message explaining that the owner was in hospital but was still managing bookings and responding to messages. The only thing I seemed to miss was information about parking and that my room key would be left on the shelf in the hallway, so I initially couldn't find it and had to send a message when I arrived. That may simply have been an oversight or a message I overlooked.

Although I didn't meet the hosts during my stay, everything ran smoothly and the accommodation was exactly what I needed for a couple of nights in Whitby.

"The location is perfect! Walkable to the city center and there's a nice park in front of Broomfield House.
The guestrooms are up on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors and there's no lift so consider that when you have difficulty climbing stairs (or with heavy suitcases). Tea and coffee corner is well stocked and a small fridge in the room was appreciated (to cool our drinks) during the hot days when we stayed there."

Tip:
"We went twice to Trenchers and also liked our breakfast at The Singing Kettle. We also liked the Mountain Warehouse clothing store. Haven't planned to buy clothes in Whitby but went 3x and bought a lot :-D"
