"Delightful stay in the garden room. Beautiful views over the garden and absolutely quiet at night which made for good sleeping, helped by the very comfortable bed. The room is well supplied with toiletries, a kettle and coffee/tea, not to mention some delicious home baked shortbread and fruitcake.
I am not a big cooked breakfast person but the options look amazing and I was very happy with beautifully arranged fruit, rhubarb compote, home made yoghurt, and muesli. A full cooked breakfast is available.
The hosts are friendly, delightful, and very helpful should you have any added needs. I would return without hesitation. "

Tip:
"The seaside villages around are lovely. I grew up in Elie and highly recommend a visit there and a meal or a drink at the Ship Inn. The long, sandy, and almost deserted Largo Bay is a short off-road walk down from Bayview and the Fife Coastal Path runs above it. St. Andrews is a half hour drive away and Lower Largo, nearby, offers quaint houses and a good option for drinks/a meal at the Crusoe Inn. "

"The hosts, Margaret and Paul were lovely; very welcoming and friendly.

We used the upstairs St Andrews room. Met our needs fully. Nice views S to the Forth & beyond. Some might find the shower a little under power but it’s fine. All room facilities as you’d expect, including Scottish Soap Company products for washing, showering etc.

The breakfast will certainly set you up for the day. Lots to choose from and nicely presented.

The car park area felt quite narrow, especially when reversing out onto the access track. I’d be wary using with a large vehicle- though that’s a personal driving comment!"

Tip:
"Margaret booked us into the Crusoe for an evening meal. Having read some reviews we were a little concerned but our experience was absolutely fine in terms of food standard and service. The only thing to be aware of is the 12.5% service charge which felt a bit excessive. Nice walk into Lower Largo, took about 40 minutes.

Our hosts had plenty of local knowledge and recommendations. One in particular was to try the Road Hole Bar at the St Andrews Hotel & Spa resort, which gave a great view to the Old Course 17th/18th holes and Swillican Bridge. Good bar food here and not too expensive.

Walk to Elie along the coast path took longer than expected and included some narrow, steep sided drops. Not good for vertigo suffers or those with accessibility needs. Track not clear in places, particularly when approaching the nearby golf course.

The local bus service is expensive .. compared to where we live. There is a bus stop right outside the accommodation.
