"Close to Durham and the A1 and yet beautiful and peaceful. Lovely riverside walks from the site, as well as Finchale Abbey on the doorstep. In our experience, booking a specific pitch does not guarantee that pitch if someone else has swapped to it before you arrive, but one in the ‘section’ will be available and a quick call to staff will confirm where you can pitch instead. Well worth a visit. "

"Although I dont want to advertise this spot as its wonderful, lovley atmosphere as I am returning, it is a little GEM if you dont visit boy your really missing out"

"Lovely peaceful adults only site set in the Priory Ruins which can be visited free and has a lovely tearoom next door. The pitch was very big and fully serviced, access roads are great and we also received a code to get a discount at Beamish Museum. All arrival instructions were emailed prior to arrival and were very clear. There is a nice walk over the river from the site in the woodlands and also down to the picnic area. Our dog really enjoyed his holiday. Good base for exploring Durham and the areas nearby."

Tip:
"The cafe on site serves drinks, cakes and snacks during the day. The nearest pub is around a two mile walk each way but Just Eat restaurants do deliver to the site if you meet the driver by the barrier. "
