"Beautiful setting amongst abbey ruins. Wonderful opportunity to walk amongst ruins with Little cafe/shop on grounds. Site clean and facilities well maintained. Only met owners once but polite and friendly. The site is not a bad location to set off from to visit local attractions. 20mins to Beamish Musem or Durham town centre where there is lots to see or do including the magnificent cathedral. Would definitely stay again. "

Tip:
"Steep gradient into the campsite on road so be aware. Approx 15-20 min vehicle travel into nearest town so recommend good walking shoes or bike. Adult only but pets welcome. "
