"Excellent site. Put 4 for staff service and facilities because it’s September and assuming minimum staffing and other facilities . But independent Abbey cafe is open daily. It’s a beautiful site, with nice scenery- very quiet and the backdrop of the Abbey is very atmospheric. "

Tip:
"The site is 4/5 miles away from Durham and a mile to the nearest bus stop. So if not got a car, taxis are readily available , approx £12 per journey into Durham city. "

"A lovely site…dog walks were good. The ducks were a positive extra.
Having the Abbey on site was not only picturesque but informative and the river was beautiful.

"Don't miss the chance to walk round the Abbey and a walk by the river is nice. Have a coffee and snack at the farmhouse, my scone was lovely."
