"While exploring the area we visited many beautiful places but a favourite was the Basenthwaite Lake Station where we ate in the lovely restaurant on the old train - making a unique setting for lunch. The Dubwath Meadow Reserve across from the station was idyllic for a post lunch walk. Overall we loved our trip to this beautiful part of the country! "

"Maryort senhouse Roman museum is an absolute gem, cockemouth independent shops then maryort for the Roman museum are an excellent day out and just up the road from each other. If you are a fan of fabulous coffee Bassenthwaite railway station has the orient express café, you sit on a film set train!"

"Absolutely amazing doing a great job. Felt at home right from the beginning great welcome and quick at hand if we needed anything."

Tip:
"We weren't really there long eneogh lol.but local pub was lovley very friendly people good food and great choice of drinks, We just went for a drive around as the weather wasnt the best we enjoyed the hot tub to much lol.thinking of coming back again some lovely little villages around too we would love to explore the lakes and do some walking next time too."
