"This is my 3rd visit to Grove House. I’ve stayed in both cottages and they are superb. Kay ( very friendly, helpful and usually very close by for any queries / or a chat) has provided everything you would need practically- v well equipped kitchen and all the extras - hairdryer / bike storage/ washing machine / huge freezer / clothes line.
BUT it’s all about the LOCATION!
The wonderful atmosphere down in the Dale by the fabulous NYMR is unique. To hear the steam trains whistling in the distance on their approach to the station and also to watch them arrive from Pickering from the kitchen or the terrace ( South facing ) sets you up for the day.
A million walks and cycling tracks from the doorstep.
I don’t need to get my car out all week - it’s just perfect.

As you know my mum came with me. She is 91 and can’t really get in/out of the bath or stand in the shower. She said it might be a good idea to have a seat in or for the shower. I must admit I wouldn’t have thought about it.
She loved watching all the birds in the garden. The gate to the garden from Skelton, seems to imply guests can walk round it, and I wonder if you should put a small “private” notice on it so you don’t have any awkward moments?"

Thank you for staying with us at Grove House Levisham. You make some good points for improving our offering for those with restricted mobility. As you know the cottages are not marketed as accessible friendly as there are steps to the entrances. We do have grab holders over the bath and in the separate shower cubical. You make a good point about a stool and we would have been pleased to have supplied one if asked and our accessible offering is something for us to consider when the bathroom is refurbished. We are very happy for guests to walk round and enjoy the Grove House garden. Thank you for taking the time to complete a review as honest reviews always help other travellers.
