"Very warm welcome, a great room with good beds, a modern bathroom that is super clean. Beautiful spacious B&B within walking distance of the center and possibility to park in front of the door. Excellent breakfast with wide choice. You can also order a packed lunch. Andy and Carole are very friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. There is also a communal living room with large TV, books and magazines. Refrigerator and possibility to make coffee and tea are available."

"We had an amazing stay at the Balcarres Bed and Breakfast. The location overlooks the Loch Linnhe and it is literally 3 minutes drive from the Fort William train station, where you’ll find the town centre with shops and dines are. The guesthouse sits on a gentle hill, it is quite hidden from the main road. It is nice and quite, rooms are warm and cosy.

Andy and Carol are super sweet friendly hosting their guests. We were not expecting guesthouses in providing room cleanup services during short stays, but the second evening when we came back from our long hike, the bedroom was fresh and clean with new snacks provided again.

Carol’s breakfast is unforgettable. Her big bowl of fresh fruit salad made every morning starts the day off. Followed by a large plate of cooked breakfast served with toasts. Yummy and gives you all the energy needed for the day. (Especially if you’re planning to do the Ben Nevis hike.) Carol and Andy will give you useful tips on some of the naerby attractions and recommended travel routes that you would not want to miss out on. The two of them are incredibly humorous. Will miss the stories on how Carol awaits by the window everyday looking out for “Bob”the seal making surprise visits in the Loch, where the dining room window overlooks."

Morrisons and Lidl are near the station/ McDonald’’s, where you can get daily essentials.

Ben Nevis hike takes about 7-9hours depending on the hiking speed and weather conditions. Large amounts of steps going up and down, trekking poles are necessary, the guesthouse provides them at the entrance as well. There are no toilets once you passed the visitor centre. May need to prepare bin bags and other essentials. Easy sun burnt after you get to the top of the Ben Nevis route, do bring protections. "

"To stay in the B&B of Carole & Andy was like coming home. Nice talks during the delicious breakfast and a lot of recommendations for walking, hiking and so on. This was not the last visit here!"
