"Superb property in an excellent location
Great communication throughout and lovely to receive a call to ensure all was well
The welcome wine, milk and biscuits were a nice touch
The fully fenced garden was great for my CockaPoo who also loved the cows visiting during the day in the field at the bottom of the garden
Good location for the coast and inland places to visit"

Tip:
"Can recommend The Green Tree 1727 at Tudhoe is very dog friendly and nice food and staff.
Dales Bike Centre has an incredible Cafe and Bakery and a beautiful drive there.
Hamsterly Forest is a fab place for walking the dog.
The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is very impressive and the walk round the grounds through the woodland was nice. Cafe not Dog Friendly.
Countryside around the area is stunning

"A wonderful stay over the Christmas week. There's everything you need to enjoy a quiet family break. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming and having en-suite facilities means no waiting for bathrooms."

Tip:
"Durham, The Auckland project and the Raby estate are all within a short drive and well worth the effort."

"Lovely rural location yet so many interesting places to visit close by. The cottage is spacious ands comfortable and feels like home. Watching the sheep graze in the fields was a delight. A lovely peaceful way to start the day! "

Tip:
"We enjoyed visiting Durham Cathedral and Raby Castle, but also more unusual things like the Royal Naval Museum at Hartlepool with its spectacular beautifully restored 1817 warship. The two galleries of mining art (in Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland) are fascinating and well worth a visit. Locomotion museum is excellent. Lots of pubs serving meals, but also the Indian restaurant Namaste and the Chinese Fortune Inn, both in Spennymoor, are really good. "
