"Lovely rural location yet so many interesting places to visit close by. The cottage is spacious ands comfortable and feels like home. Watching the sheep graze in the fields was a delight. A lovely peaceful way to start the day! "

Tip:
"We enjoyed visiting Durham Cathedral and Raby Castle, but also more unusual things like the Royal Naval Museum at Hartlepool with its spectacular beautifully restored 1817 warship. The two galleries of mining art (in Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland) are fascinating and well worth a visit. Locomotion museum is excellent. Lots of pubs serving meals, but also the Indian restaurant Namaste and the Chinese Fortune Inn, both in Spennymoor, are really good. "
