"I’ve spent five nights in Elsie and Derek’s cute red Shepherd’s Hut and I couldn’t have had a better base for exploring the Uig area. The hut is so cozy and perfectly equipped. Elsie kindly showed me the best walks in the area on an excellent map they provide for visitors and gave me wonderful tips for things to explore. I was sad to say goodbye to this magical place at the end of my stay. "

Tip:
"The area is a bit remote, so I recommend doing your shopping before you arrive. If you have a rental car, you’re more flexible. There’s a community shop some miles away. I don’t drive, so I relied on the bus and hiking. The bus is a call bus which works fine if you plan ahead.

I really recommend going out to the Mangersta Sea Stacks. Also explore the coastline around Mangersta Croft Holidays, you’ll find fantastic outlooks. Mangersta Beach is stunning to watch the waves at different times of day. I once had lunch at Uig Sands Restaurant. Pricy but very tasty and with stunning views. "
