"Group of 11 friends rented two properties, we had a wonderful week enjoying magnificent scenery and wildlife, eating communal meals in Strathan House and a variety of walks from gentle strolls around the lovely Attadale gardens to more adventurous mountain trails. Something for every ability. Owners and staff were very helpful ensuring any problems were attended to quickly, helpful with access to remote monros and delivery of estate venison - definitely recommended."

Tip:
"Carron Restaurant just over a mile away accommodated our large group, we had an excellent meal and most enjoyable evening.
walkhighlands website very useful for planning walking routes."

"We had a great stay. The weather was not kind but the house coped. We had a struggle getting warmth from the fire though as it hid its heat somehow. We also struggled to understand the radiators which would not warm up to start with. Many button presses later we made some of them work. At 6'4" the single beds were very small, especially the ones with the foot ends!

Tip:
"So much to do! Carron cafe, Lochcarron Hotel, The pottery and weavers, Kishorn Seafood Shack (closed in the winter) and further afield the Applecross Inn a must for foodies. Wildlife galour, the gardens were interesting even in pouring rain and cold and of course there are the hills which is why we came."

"Strathan House is a comfortable, well appointed house in a stunning location, with terrific views. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider booking again. "

Tip:
"Because of the time of year we visited, and also due to staffing challenges, we found that a number of the local restaurants were shut when we wanted to use them. It definitely pays to heed the advice to plan ahead if you want to eat out. We enjoyed visits to Skye, Applecross, the Glen Ord distillery, Plockton, the Kyle of Lochalsh and of course, the Attadale Gardens which are a wonderful free bonus with the accommodation and not to be missed.
The Spar shop in Lochcarron is excellent, with just about everything you’ll need and the Coop store in Kyle of Lochalsh is handy too. Can recommend the red hut for fresh fish in Kyle of Lochalsh too."
