"The Old Byre is a perfect accommodation. If we were to build our own retirement home, this would be it! The interior design was so lovely-truly something you would see in a magazine. This cottage was one of 11 accommodations we booked for our month long holiday in Scotland. We selected The Old Byre for our special accommodation for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was perfect and extraordinary."

Tip:
"Fort William was so conveniently located from the property. Many choices for restaurants. A great location for most of our day trips.
We are outdoor and hiking people and we could easily access beautiful walks from the cottage. The view of Ben Nevis was a real treat."

"Great base for walking/hiking
We enjoyed two meals at the Crannog - might be hard if you don't like fish/seafood - if you do heaven - MUST book in season
Had a fabulous day out with Rockhopper Kayaks on the Glenuig trip
If you need a 'quieter' leg saving day from mountains take a drive up Glen Roy - amazing glaciation features if you are into that sort of thing. There is also a walk based up the top of the valley.
The hot smoked salmon from Ardshealach Smokehouse in Glenuig is yummy - they are online but if you have cool blocks with you when you turn up in Glenuig you could pick stuff up directly from their wee shop.
There is a relatively new good coffee stop just on the south side of Acharacle village - seems popular with cyclists. It is on the right up a sloping 'drive' as you leave the village e.g. after the village shop. Hope they survive - if you go that way it would be good to support them. Sorry cannot remember the name."

"Invest £3 in an anti-midge coil so you can sit outside the cottage and enjoy the scenery. Go on the steam train to Mallaig and avoid the Tandoori Restaurant if you like good curry."
