"We had a fabulous stay with Richard and Wendy, who are excellent hosts. The room was lovely - clean, cosy, with plenty of storage space. The free (permit) parking was a bonus and, even though Hillside is on a (thankfully short) steep hill, it was convenient for the main areas of Kendal we visited as part of the LICAF event. The breakfasts were ample, with quality ingredients. It was our first time in Kendal but we would happily stay at Hillside again."

Tip:
"The hill may be an issue for people with mobility problems but, if you can manage it, Hillside is ideally situated for some excellent eateries (we enjoyed Thai at Bangkok 7, charcuterie at 5 O'clock Somewhere, and superb tapas at Comida), and some lovely bars - our particular favourites were the Brewery Arts centre and Indie Craft Beer)."

"My room was very nice, very clean and very comfortable. It was nice and quiet. Breakfast was excellent. There was very good advice given about Kendal and the surrounding area. The only downside would be for some people is that it is on a steep hill."

Tip:
"Plenty of places in Kendal to eat and drink, and also plenty to see. "
