"We had a very warm welcome from Wendy and Richard, and their B&B was very comfortable and in a beautiful part of Kendal. The breakfast was delicious, and Richard was on hand with advice and conversation. We were very pleased to find them encouraging the use of cash, which we also feel strongly about.
We would go to Hillside again if we are in Kendal (which is a beautiful part of the world) and would recommend it to other travellers."

"Very good range of beers at the Ring o’ Bells pub in Kirkgate.
We didn’t stay long in the area, as we were en route to Scotland."
