"Come well prepared for with provisions for self catering as there are few options locally. That’s all part of the magic of this location - totally unspoiled.

Bring your bathers as the water is lovely in the summer months. Alternatively, walking around the Loch is a good day’s entertainment and you’re guaranteed some wonderful sights and few other people around. "

"A lovely, warm welcome was given by Kate. Her travel advice to get us there was perfect.
The cottage is just lovely, set in the most beautiful surroundings. Kate provided lots of ideas for days out - loch walks, fishing spots, etc.
The cottage is very clean, comfortable and warm. Plenty storage space and every amenity possible was provided. Also, a very welcome tub of Lurpack was in the fridge!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Half House Cottage and hope to return."

Tip:
"A walk around St Mary’s Loch and the dam wall of nearby Megget Resevoir.
Grey Mare Tail Waterfall - it’s a steep climb but getting to the top to see Loch Skeen is worth the effort.
Moffat, has a variety of independent shops that are nice to browse. The local museum is also worth a visit. Good history of the local area. "
