"Oh my goodness, where to start! We found Driftwood Cottage online and fell in love with the location, the views, and the photos of inside - it was just what we wanted for our first visit to Skye. We booked almost a year ahead for these 3 nights and then planned the rest of our dream trip around this booking. It did not disappoint! The cottage was immaculate, private, comfortable and cosy. Our only neighbors were sheep! The views were even more spectacular in person and each bedroom has views of both the sea and the Quiraing. The kitchen had everything we needed, as did the bathrooms. We loved the fact that they had several binoculars too, even through we had brought our own! We also loved that there was a clothes dryer, we were half expecting to use the clothes line outside or the towel warmer to dry our clothes! The beds were comfortable, the bedding was cosy and kept us warm. If you have time on your hands, there is a huge collection of reading materials and DVDs to keep you occupied. "

Tip:
"Hike the Quiraing!! It is amazing and we honestly felt as though we were transported to another realm. It's just a few minutes from the cottage when you drive up to the car park and follow the trail - the first part of the trail is super easy (no strenuous climbs) but if you are adventurous then go crazy as there are several trails to choose from. After that carry on to Uig to see the Fairy Glen, then drive back to the cottage via A855 north stopping along the way to visit the Skye Museum of Island Life and the ruins of Duntulm Castle - both spectacular!
We also visited the Staffin museum, the curator was very knowledgable and gave us some hints about visiting the dinosaur prints at An Corran beach but there were better prints further south at Culnacnoc beach.
If you are there on a Sunday then we recommend driving over the Quiraing to Uig for the Sunday Roast at the Uig Hotel - so delicious and the staff there are so friendly and helpful."
