"Owl Cottage is in the perfect location for us, close to cafes, pubs, shops but there are also plenty of walks from the doorstep. It is clean, well maintained and equipped and has a super comfortable bed. We particularly liked that it had a bath as well as a shower. I was itching to try out the wood burning stove but it was August and although some evenings were cool, it didn't warrant the extravagance. Claire supplies a lovely woolen lap rug which was enough."

"Amazing cottage, with everything you can need. Beautiful log burner, unfortunately we didn't get to use it as the weather was lovely. The bed is super comfy and massive. With walks from the door step and a lovely village. Theylittle extras that Claire left for us was very welcome. Super hosts, we'll hopefully be back again :)"

Tip:
"The French restaurant is a must to visit and very reasonably priced as is the chippy with amazing award winning pies. The butcher in the village is also amazing. We picked up some sausage and bacon for breakfast 😋 the walk from Low Force to High Force was well worth it. Barnard Castle is also a must to visit if you get the chance. "

"An excellent cottage, well maintained, clean and pet friendly. It was close to Middleton town centre but far enough away to be very quiet, and with easy access to woods so we could walk our dog, Sam.
I could not fault the level of support from Claire (the owner) who was always on hand to help with the most minor of queries.
The only minor issue was with the shower which seemed to have a mind of its own in terms of temperature "

"After spending our second visit with Owl Cottage it has begun to feel like a second home to us both . Although we were only there for a couple of days it felt homely and cosy this time just took walks around the local area which is beautiful. Sampled the mint,lamb & potato pie from the fish shop and can see why it is a award winning pie . Even though the rain came down on Saturday I loved sitting on the bed reading my book with one of the best views out of the window. We are already planning our next trip in November. "

Tip:
"Visit the local tea shops & Fish and chip shop very friendly and helpful. Try walks by the river and around the village the views are beautiful. Enjoy the quietness. "
