Rob and Maggie were the best hosts you could wish for - welcoming and very helpful. They made you feel like one of the family and nothing was too much to do. As an add on we opted for the BBQ option which was absolutely awesome and we thought very reasonable bearing in mind the quality and amount of food, and drinks. Everything was immaculate, the rooms and property as a whole, and the location and views were stunning. Without a doubt we will stay again! Chris and Mike W

Tips for other travellers

Just enjoy your visit to this part of Wales, especially if you like walking and fishing. However, make sure you have a good map, unless you enjoy getting lost! Llanidloes has several eateries in the town but we thought it a bit of a trek just for a meal. Would suggest you speak with Maggie or Rob (the hosts) if unsure - remember the BBQ option!

We stayed at Ty Capel for one night and honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer. Rob and Maggie were lovely hosts and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. The place is absolutely beautiful — the views are amazing and it’s in such a peaceful spot. Our room was massive, super clean, and really comfy. It felt like a proper treat. Breakfast in the morning was a full English and it was spot on — tasty, filling, and a great way to start the day. For the price, it was such good value. We were really impressed with everything. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back someday!

Jason and Teresa are so welcoming and go out their way to make us feel comfortable and also give you as much space as you need with everything you need. The rooms and whole communal areas are spotless and have a lovely cosy vibe

Tips for other travellers

Hiraeth in Llanidloes is lovely but we tend to eat at the B&B with notice to Jason and Teresa. We stayed in the Hafren room which is beautiful and the views are stunning but the Clewydog room is spectacular and dare you to not be impressed by the big glass window and balcony overlooking the reservoir and valley it’s breathtaking
