Perfectly prepared cottage with an unexpected 'goodies' tray and 'starter' pack of logs and kindling for the fire on our arrival. Great local pub across the road and several local shops for for topping up the larder.

Plenty of good local walks from the cottage and an impressive range of stately homes within easy driving distance.

We stayed at Tweedledee Cottage for six nights. Very impressed! A lovely, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and cosy cottage for two in a superb location (staggering distance from the village pubs!) with great parking space directly opposite. Excellent customer service from the owner, Rachel throughout. The weather was not too kind to us, so it was great to come back and relax in the surroundings of this lovely cosy cottage when the rain became too much for us. We will definitely return to this cottage when we are next in the beautiful Peak District. Thank you for making our stay so very special! We will have very happy memories of our visit, despite the weather!

Tips for other travellers

Stairs to bedroom are steep, but don't be put off as they are perfectly manageable if you use the hand rails and hand-holds that have been carefully placed. Do use the local pubs and shops - all are excellent and the people of Youlgrave are also very friendly and welcoming. We used the village shop (excellent Pannini's!), The George and the Bulls Head. The Team at the Bulls Head were superb and we ate here three times and also took part in the Quiz Night, joining one of the village teams. lots of lovely walks in the area.

If you want to eat out, do book in one of three pubs, they get very busy.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Such a comfortable and cosy cottage, a real home from home. Everything is five star. I had a small problem (which wasn’t the owner’s fault) , contacted her and she came and sorted it straight away. Great communication and service. Fantastic property.
