We had a lovely stay, Rod was lovely and extremely accommodating. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is ideal for amazing hikes on your door step and Ambleside is a great town with plenty of good places to eat!

Had a fantastic weekend staying at 2 Cambridge Villas Ideally situated for the amenities in the charming town of Ambleside, and the neighbouring areas Some spectacular walks and scenery The hotel itself was ideal for what we wanted Cosy, spotless bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed Delicious freshly cooked breakfast Free parking The host Rod, is a lovely man. Very friendly and helpful Kate was also a great hostess We were made to feel very welcome by both of them We will be back for another great weekend sometime soon

Tips for other travellers

The Royal Oak, just a couple of mins stroll away, was a great pun to eat and have a drink or two. Live music on the Saturday was fantastic Plenty of other bars and restaurants Doi Intanon is a Thai restaurant in the centre of town, the food was beautiful, and the building/atmosphere fantastic Wansfell Pike is a challenging walk, but the spectacular views from the top are certainly worth it
