Such a lovely, peaceful site. Being in the grounds of the priory was great too. The toilets and showers were all clean and well maintained, which is always a huge plus point! Lots of facilities locally as well so you didn't have to go far to stock up. Would highly recommend.

Tips for other travellers

We caught the bus at the end of the road into Durham, which worked really well. But be aware - the last bus back is 5.15pm! If you use the park and ride the car park closes at 7pm so if you want to go out for an evening meal it's not practical.

Beautiful location outstanding facilities , staff very helpful, I couldn’t recommend this more for the walks and location . Pub was with 1.5miles .

Tips for other travellers

Walk into Durham was very nice and flat 4.5 miles can take up to 2hrs we managed in 1 hr - would be a great cycle route . Within 10 minutes drive you also have a mall with lots of shops for essentials
