Finchale Abbey Park

Beautiful grounds next to the Priory ruins and the river. Clean modern toilet block.

What a beautiful site in the most wonderful location. Loved every minute of our time with you. Pitches were plenty big enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were very good. Will definitely be back one day. Only criticisms (and they’re not major) I had were if the disabled shower had been used by someone it would flood the entire washroom which then made the floor dangerous. I did point this out to staff who said they were going to change the shower controls but this either didn’t happen or didn’t make a difference. The other was the recycling. Whilst there was availability for this, the main area, as highlighted on the map, which was clearly marked with what went where, was only for residents use (as told to me by a resident) and the campsite bins were not labelled so nothing was being recycled properly. The bins in Durham are different colours to mine and others local bins so clarity would have helped or change the map to make it clear where we could use and add a recycling sign.
