It was a very well kept site. It is a quiet and picturesque site. The shower and toilets were immaculate. However, the shop on site was very limited. We assumed there would be basics such as bread and milk but there was nothing obvious. It was basically a cafe selling drinks and snacks. The walk into Durham was very pleasant just over 4 miles. It does involve some uphill climbs but nothing too strenuous.

Unusual campsite in grounds of ruins. Dated but clean showers & toilets. Great to see bathroom floors being scrubbed with bleach! Nicely kept grounds. Peaceful night.

Nice tidy, quiet site with free access to the Priory ruins and a little shop with a very helpful lovely lady. Great setting by the river and woodland walks. See if you can find the sword in the tree.

Lovely site in a stunning position. My only reservation is that levelling is rather difficult.
