The lack of signs at arrival, of a reception or office. Anyway not clear to me! Much appreciated the reguarly surveillance by quad/ golf cart.

I was looking forward to the announced walk to Durham. I asked in the shop for a hard copy and the woman gave me some suggestions. As to park the car first at the entrance of the wood..... Because it is a dull and long walk from the campsite. She also said it would take about 60-75mins, but after got lost and looked at google-maps, it would be at least one and a half hour. But I had to return because I got lost and there were no signs at all! So I went by car to the city and was much better!

Thank you for your review Rein Sometimes when you are a different country you may not have understood the direction you were given It is a beautiful walk to the city along a proper path for cycling and walking The map does show you walk around the prison perimeter to join the route into Durham Thank you

The grounds, pitches and facilities are spacious and kept in excellent condition - a credit to all the staff. There are beautiful walks from the site along the river Wear and the Abbey is well worth a visit.

We had a brilliant time at Finchale Abbey touring park,lovely grounds for walking our two dogs. An excellent base for touring the sites of Durham and the surrounding area.100% recommend. We will definitely be returning.

As we had a caravan with an Awning,we ensured that we took our awning down the night before the day of departure to ensure that we had enough time and no need to rush before the 11am departure time.
