We've stayed in a camping pod at Finchale Abbey Park four times now and always enjoy our visits. The pods are warm and comfortable and situated near enough to the amenities block to make easy access.

The ruins of Finchale Priory are worth exploring. There is a nice walk along the side of the River Wear, or up into Cocken Wood - snowdrops in flower this time, but quite a few bluebells on a couple of visits. There is also a nice walk to Durham

Booked online, it was nice and easy, when i arrived i was concerned about driving onto the c pitches that i had booked (due to weather and time of year) as they have a grass strip before the hardstanding so i asked if possible if i could move to another section, the gentleman i spoke to was so friendly and helpful and said i could move no problem. The grounds are beautiful and there are lots of walks. Lovely peaceful night. Would recommend
