Lovely site and very quiet and peaceful. Nice walk through the orchard and woodland walk. Abbey access a nice inclusion. Only downside was the pitch we were on there is a path that the Lodge residents use to cut through which was right at the side of our van and could be intrusive. Path really needs to be moved towards the edge of the residential area.

Bit naughty. They should keep to the path. Thank you for letting me know

Beautiful, peaceful which allows for relaxing down time. Short drives to Durham/Chester le street if you want shops/eateries. Lovely walk from site to Durham city centre. Through Franklin woods and brings you to the edge of the centre. 8 mile round trip on foot. Small river walk on site but depending on which route you do, there are a lot of steps to go up or down. Light entertainment every night (we stayed July) of guinea fowl running past the vans. Can hear them through out the day, but to see them go foraging down to the river with the ducks, is pretty fun to watch. Defo worth a visit if you want peace & quiet
