Finchale Abbey Park

Absolutely incredible site with amazing views, facilities are kept clean and tidy. Staff are helpful and friendly. Great for dog walking.

Based really well for Durhamand other places. Will defo come back the walks along the river are great.

The site was stunning and beautifully maintained on a site overlooking an abbey and a river. Very quiet and peaceful. However, on the website it is described as having a cafe and a shop which is one of the reasons that we booked it. The cafe was not opened while we were there although there was a takeaway hatch serving tasteless coffee. There was no shop. The laundry room was kept locked which is a nuisance to those like us who prefer to do washing first thing before going out for the day. You have to get a key from reception which doesn’t open until 10.00 which is inconvenient.
