I can’t fault this accommodation 10/10 it’s just perfect for me & my needs. Situated half way between Kirkwall & Stromness it’s ideal to visit all of Orkney’s Neolithic sites & is only a short distance to each ferry terminal if you plan to sail to the outer islands. These apartments have everything you need.bedding, pots and pans, dishes, washing machines etc etc You basically just need to turn up.

Kringla’s welcome pack gives lots of interesting information about dog friendly places to visit & eat. I used The Orkney Brewery,Judith Glue’s cafe,The Daily Scoop also Westbites (based in Dounby) excellent fish & chips every Friday night until 7pm. Another good place to visit is The Tomb of The Eagles that has reopened (South Ronaldsay) You can’t come to Orkney & not visit the iconic Italian Chapel & St Magnus Cathedral.

I have stayed at Kringla several times & l will keep coming back to book with them because as far as l am concerned it’s the best self catering accommodation on Orkney. Everything you could possibly need it catered for you. It is spotless throughout.l can’t fault this place it’s just perfect!

As l travel with dogs.Kringla 2 is dog friendly (with permission) so it’s perfect. The Appartments have a large park just across the road & is ideal to walk your dog/s. Dounby is perfectly located for all the Neolithic sites around mainland Orkney, there’s plenty of dog friendly places to eat. The Orkney Brewery (Quoyloo)welcomes dogs, the only place they don’t allow dogs is the brew house. Judith Glue Cafe,The Daily Scoop both Broad Street,Kirkwall. These are the main places l used..But Kay & Kringla have a more extended list of dog friendly places to visit in their welcome pack. Also there’s West Bites (Fish & Chip van) based at Dounby just adjacent to Kringla (Every Friday night until 7pm).
