We stayed at Newbigging cottage set on its own, on the picturesque farm. Just what we were looking for , a quiet secluded place for us to unwind and enjoy, with a beautiful view. We both enjoyed our visit to orkney. We will definitely be coming back. A big thank you to Kay and Davie who made us really welcome and who gave us lots of insight of places to visit and eat.

Tips for other travellers

Lots of historical places to go and see in Orkney’s. From the Italian chapel to skara brae visitor centre, lots of beaches for walks too. My husband especially liked fishing all the locks which are in their plenty. Dinner at the standing stones hotel, staff were welcoming and food was fresh and delicious. Breakfast at Stromness at pier bistro staff very welcoming and food freshly cooked.
