We had such a great stay at Blackadon farm. The place was pristine clean,with modern interior, warm and relaxing. The cookies were a treat on arrival. We had all we need, and Michael was quick to respond to any queries. The little donkeys and pygmy goat friends were a bonus. Very convenient location to visit Dartmoor national park and neighbouring villages. Very nice walk up the mountains , from the cottage with the little stream at the side. The guide book was excellent, it had such clear instructions about everything, including helpful information about local restaurants. Overall it was excellent, we highly recommend.

Tips for other travellers

The walk up the mountains from tne cottage itself is beautiful, if the weather is good, the view is amazing. Quick access to A38, only 5 min away. The village of Ashburton has lots of antique shops, though many are closed on Mondays. Many of the neighbouring villages are beautiful even to drive through. Dartmouth is about less than an hour drive, and is a brilliant place to visit. Salcombe beach is also beautiful which is about half an hour drive.

We have stayed at Blackadon over the past 10 years. The location is superb and the quality of the accommodation is excellent - warm, comfortable and very well equipped.

Tips for other travellers

Fabulous moorland walks from the door and /or within an easy drive. Piles copse - a beautiful temperate rainforest is 2 hours walk and we'll worth a visit. The coast is within 45 minutes drive. Totnes and Darting are very close and lovely to visit.

A perfect spot in Moorhaven Village right up high above the rooftops! I stayed at The Stable which was warm and cosy a great room for one or two persons. I have nothing more to say about your accommodation and friendliness. It was welcoming from the very beginning. I very much look forward to returning very soon. You are now my ‘go to’ holiday home. I didn’t notice any brochures for things to do locally or nice eating places. However I was here to visit my family so I had no need to look for these.
