Bus drivers and shop assistants helpful and friendly. Ferries convenient for outer islands. The Daily Scoop's a very nice cafe with good selection and St Magnus community cafe welcoming with very reasonable prices. Good quality shops and pleasant garden behind local museum.

A really lovely B&B, great location, you can walk into the centre of Kirkwall from it, lovely, helpful owners, all the staff were great.would certainly recommend it.

There are too many things to mention, but I suppose, the standing stones, Scara Brae, island of Hoy, Scapa Flow are the places that stood out for me.

Scara Brae, no question. The Beremeal place near Birsay 21 (the restaurant) - excellent tapas-style food
