Absolute perfection. Everything had been thought through, with lovely touches such as home made cake in the room every day, fresh milk in the fridge for us. Spotlessly clean and very homely. Breakfasts were delicious, varied and cooked to perfection, with fresh fruit salad too. Our hosts are warm and welcoming, and made it a wonderful stay for us. Thank you.

Visit the village church. Local pub The Star was good with a comprehensive menu. Sals Italian was lovely, good food, modern decor, but take your own booze. Tideswell is an excellent base for sightseeing, very central, and an interesting village with wonderful old houses. An easy stroll from Merman Barn.

This was our second stay at Merman Barn to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Linda and Andrew made us very welcome. We stayed in the super king room, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The ensuite was great with a fridge on the landing for milk or other cool items. There was an excellent choice for breakfast, we particularly enjoyed the bowl of fruit before our English breakfast. We will definitely visit again and would highly recommend Merman Barn as a place to stay whilst in Tideswell.

We enjoy walking so Tideswell is an excellent base. We visited Thors Cave and walked over Stanage Edge from Hathersage. We had our 2 evening meals at The Star Inn. A lively, friendly pub which serves great food.
