We had a wonderful weekend in this cosy cottage. The cottage had everything we needed - comfy beds, two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, logs and kindling, and parking right outside. We were delighted to see new lambs, as well as lots of other animals, both wild and farm - deer, cats, stoats, cows, horses - and numerous birds. The area is stunning, with plenty to do and lovely walks right from the cottage door. Very helpful and friendly owners.

Great for dark skies - bring binoculars/telescope! Perfect too as a base for Rosedale Abbey and its fascinating religious and industrial history, the wonderful Dale Head Farm tea garden, daffodils at Farndale, folk museum at Hutton-le-Hole, amazing churches at Lastingham and Appleton-le-moors, the moors centre at Danby, Botton village, and much more.

We had a wonderful stay, thank you. Craven Garth is so peaceful, tucked into a beautiful valley. The communication since we booked was great, with lots of tips, and helpful advice on local walks etc.

We walked the disused Rosedale Ironworks railway line, which takes you up near the top of the scars and around the valley. There are information boards on the way to tell you all about its history. Can highly recommend a lovely lunch at the Lion Inn on route too!
