This is a nice place with very lovely hosts, Greg and Helen. Upon learning it was my birthday, Greg printed a happy birthday sign with a cake and candles and put it on my room’s door. The room (6 bunk beds) was spacious with plenty of space to store my things. There are a large kitchen, nice dining room, and cozy common room with comfortable armchairs. Everything was spotless and the hallways decorated with photos of Greg and Helen’s adventures around the world. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely stay here again.

Had a great night's stay at the hostel after a day in the hills. Friendly welcome on arrival and excellent facilities - spotlessly clean throughout. Loved the privacy curtain on the bunkbeads and watching the birds on the bird feeder while doing my dishes.

We're glad that you enjoyed your stay with us so much. For clarification, the privacy curtains are provided only round the beds in the shared dormitory room. In the private rooms we assume that the guests already know each other and have chosen to share the room with each other. The birds get through an awful lot of food but the cost to us is worth it for the show.

It is the cleanest hostel I've stayed in so far. The first time I stayed in a mixed dorm but it was a really good experience. The beds have privacy curtains. The room has personal cabinets to store bags and a sink. There are even shoe trays under the beds. We got given female only room on our last night, as a gift from Helen, as it was also the hostel's last weekend before they shut for the season. Big kitchen, fully supplied with everything you would need, also with induction hob cooker. Everything is labelled and easily found even where the kitchen towels are located so there's no excuse not to dry your plates and utensils. Big and effective drying room too. Greg and Helen are very helpful. We got a pre-check in tour of the hostel. We received precious tips about hiking opportunities in the area. They are both keen hikers too. I will definitely watch out when you open again in Easter 2026 for my next sets of munro in the area. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Thank you for taking the time to post such comprehensive review. We're very glad it's all positive! We hope to see you again in 2026. As far as car parking goes, you may not have noticed the overflow parking area in the lower hostel garden. We actually have space for 11 guest cars, as long as people don't park too far apart. When groups have booked exclusive use of the hostel there is room for a few more vehicles if guests are prepared to have some vehicles blocked in.
