Cottage was perfect for us. We were made very welcome. Short drive to Pickering and the ‘Moors’ and Coast. We hope to stay there again!

Try and catch the Lockton tea room supper club - fri and sat only on certain dates.

Very much enjoyed our holiday. Good weather helped of course. Cottage two was very well appointed and in tip top condition.

Tips for other travellers

Plenty of good walking. We visted Scampston Gardens, Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Whitby using the NYMR, Hutton-le-hole and the rural museum there and Lastingham, but there is plenty more. Had the weather been bad then York is not far.

Excellent accommodation and hosts. Everything we needed for a rural holiday. The place is well furnished and located in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Tips for other travellers

It is located close to the Dalby Forest, with the market towns of Pickering and Thornton-Le- Dale only 10 minutes away. North Yorkshire Railway is well worth a visit. There is a small tea room in the village and good restaurants, The Fox & Rabbit and The Horseshoe Inn only a few miles away.
