Very pleasant Inn with very good food, service and accommodation. The staff were helpful but unobtrusive and the room clean and comfortable. The Inn was attractively decorated with a good selection of drinks and the menu gave a good choice of food all sources locally.

The only thing that disappointed us was that the bar closed 3.30 to 5.30, so after driving 4 hours to the Kilpeck and meeting our friends we couldn’t sit on the bar and have a drink to catch up. It worked out ok as the sun was shining and we sat in the beer garden with our own wine - feel your missing a few sales there. Not sure what we would have done if it was raining.

The taxi recommended by Kilpeck was very good as we were at a wedding at the Haybarn.

This is my second stay at the Kilpeck Inn in recent times and it was very enjoyable again. The food was very good too. I just wonder what can be done to encourage some of the local villagers to use the pub more ?

Under The Nut Tree is a good restaurant nearby. Also, The Bull’s Head in the Monnow Valley and the Yew Tree Inn near Ross-on-Wye.
