Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. Had everything I could want or need. Owners were lovely, friendly and helpful. Very quiet amongst the fields. Located near to Banff, Aberchirder and to Whitehills where I could get everything I needed for my vacation. Wholeheartedly recommend Buttermere.

Nice cafe at Delgatie Castle with tea and scones and cheese toasties. Brilliant fish and chips in Whitehills at Rockfish. It’s not open everyday and very popular so call ahead for reservations or get take away. The servings were massive and the fish so fresh! Upstairs at the Spotty Bag in Banff has really good breakfast and scones with tea. And I’m told very good coffee. Home Bakery in High Street in Banff has good bread and pastries

very enjoyable stay at Buttermere cottage. Bed was really comfortable and the shower powerful. The cottage is fresh and modern with super wifi and large screen tv with satellite channels. A lovely welcome pack included a voucher for ice cream at the Portsoy ice cream shop which is worth a visit. Rachel and Graham were available if needed. i would certainly recommend staying here if visiting the area as there are lots of places to see within a short drive.

Lots of lovely coastal walks nearby. I played golf at Royal Tarlair and there is also Duff House Royal golf course within a few miles drive. The Market Arms is good for dining and thete is a fabulous fish and chip shop at Whitehills called Rockfish which you can also sit in. The villages of Gardenstown, Crovie, Cullen and Portknockie ate also worth visiting. There are loads of castles to explore that you are never stuck for something to do.
