Lewis and James are outstanding hosts. We were made so welcome and felt valued guests. Everything was such a very high standard, the rooms very unique, real wow factor. The downstairs guest areas, bar area and garden all exceptional. Breakfast superb, nothing was to much trouble. James is a very excellent cook. Lewis even charged our electric car up for a very reasonable charge. We stayed an extra night as we loved it so much.

In 50 years of travelling around the UK I can honestly say 'The Earlsdale' is one of if not the best guest house we have ever stayed at. The room was lovely with everything provided and very clean. The breakfast was superb made with top quality ingredients and a generous bowl of mixed fruit to start. The hosts Lewis and James were fantastic ably assisted by Ray and Gwen behind the scenes. Other little touches were home made cake and muffins and the honesty bar which were all very much appreciated. We may not ever go back to North Devon but if we did we would definitely be in touch with Lewis and James and would recommend 'The Earlsdale' to anyone looking for a friendly welcome and an attentive home from home stay Thanks to all Paul and Susan Doncaster

Lots of lovely little Bays and Coves to visit around the area but our favourites were Combe Martin, Hele Bay and Watermouth Bay all close to Ilfracombe then a bit further away Lynton and Lynmouth, Appledore and Instow less than an hour away and the beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton are hard to beat. We also enjoyed Ilfracombe Harbour with some great places to eat and drink

We had another wonderful stay at the superb Earlsdale as this was our fourth visit. Lewis and James are fabulous hosts and always provide a first class service to make sure we have wonderful holiday. The Breakfasts are absolutely delicious, sheer perfection and each year they introduce new breakfast accompaniments which are divine. We would highly recommend staying at the Earlsdale. Thank you. Brian and Lindsay. X

Woolacombe beach, Saunton Sands or Croyde Bay are fabulous sandy beaches only a short drive away. The lovely towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are within a reasonable drive but offer a range of eateries, arts and crafts and a range of clothes shops. Ilfracombe town has a range of good restaurants. There are plenty of opportunities for great walks in Glorious Devon's countryside.
