We had a great stay with Phil and Stephen. We were welcomed with open arms and a lovely, clean Barley Cottage. The area around the property is unusually beautiful with the river flowing quietly along the park-like garden, and in the neighbourhood, you see many fine houses with beautiful English gardens. In addition, there are many opportunities to go for some nice long walks. We chose to stay one more day than planned, and luckily Phil and Stephen had room for us. Their guestbook is something completely different. In addition to the fact that it contains all the practical details, including must-see and various pubs and restaurants, it is a small piece of art with the most beautiful pictures and accommodations. It can only be highly recommended to take a stay at River Neen Cottages – and if we pass by the area again one day, we will of course book a new stay. All the best – Susse, Kim and Valborg 🐾

The cottage was perfect for getting away for a relaxing break in the countryside, Just what we were looking for. The accommodation was clean, well maintained and had everything available to make it a home from home. As for the owners, delightful people, very friendly and very helpful when needed. We’d happily stay again and recommend to friends and family. Thank you. .

There’s loads of lovely countryside walks, with a few historic places of interest nearby. Overall, a lovely place to disappear for a few days.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting with great hosts. Easy access to delightful towns, villages and countryside. Great dog walks from the doorstep. 20 minute walk to village with pubs and cafes. Perfect break away. Shame the sun didn't shine much because the garden and pool are truly idyllic

Take provisions if you want a cuppa on arrival as there wasn't a welcome pack of milk, tea bscuits etc. There was a bit of coffee and sugar left but it had been there a while I think. However If you asked I'm certain they would find you some as Steven was very hospitable.

Thanks so much Ruth ! Yes indeed, we are phasing out welcome packs of all types. Put dairy milk in the cottages and people want Almond milk, put tea in the cottages and people want Green Tea , put sugar in the cottages and people use wet spoons - life's too short ! Having said that, you're quite right, we are here and very happy to help where ever we can and we actively invite our guests to let us know if they need anything.
