We loved our stay in the Coach House and particularly enjoyed the wonderful gardens, the setting beside the river and views of the church. The accommodation was perfect for 2 people and was fitted out with everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and we would certainly visit again.

Beautiful shared garden and pool. The cottage is fairy basic, but has everything you need. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them to help you enjoy your holiday.

Thank you for your review. As hosts we do everything we can to make sure , as you say, that we are welcoming, friendly and try to make sure our guests are comfy and have everything they need. What more would you have liked from us to have been kind enough to give us 5/5 ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Booked a couple of nights at River Nene Cottages, which if it hadn't been for a family commitment on day 3, we would have loved to have extended. Stephen was there to greet us and show us around the cottage and garden. We were in Coach Cottage, which is upstairs and is perfect for two people. Tv/Wi-Fi available if the weather turns and you can't get out to enjoy the beautiful gardens/pool/river/walks. Such a calming and restful location, we just hit it right with fantastic weather meaning we had the maximum pleasure from the cottage and the facilities. Can't praise our stay at River Nene Cottages highly enough. Massive thank you to Stephen and Philip for providing such a superb facility and sharing it with us.

Tips for other travellers
All the facilities you need - Microwave/Oven, pots, pans, cutlery fridge/freezer - if you want to self cater - and a dishwasher for the post meal clean up. However there are a number of restaurants and pubs nearby, all detailed in the superb photo-information folder that you'll find on your arrival. I need to elaborate on the 4 stars I gave for location. Water Newton is a very old village located on the old North Road that has been left as a loop off the present A1 when it was dualed. By car you must enter and leave the village from the A1. It is virtually traffic free through the village, but the roar of the current A1 is never far away (decent sound insolation in the cottage though). Google Map street view, to give yourself a heads up about getting into and out of Water Newton. Is this a negative? No not at all, you actually get a sense of being isolated on a loop that nobody else knows about, hence the sense of tranquility, and you can always walk out over the river lock bridge and stroll on to a village and its pub(s).
