Two local shops are great - one just a mile away

We stayed in a dog friendly pod for one night. Great to get picked up and dropped off at the ferry by the lovely lady driving the Sanday bus. Pod had a comfy double bed, extra blankets, a kettle and heater. Bench outside to sit at. Wonderful views over the little rocky cove from the pod and garden and saw otters swimming there. Kitchen very well equipped, microwave, hob, pots and pans. The bathroom was fine, shower hot- a bit dated but is getting an update soon so that will be even better. It was so peaceful, very relaxing place to stay. Claire was on hand to help with anything needed, thank you for a wonderful stay.

We visited white mill bay beach and Cata sands ( both stunning). We visited the heritage museum and furnished Croft house-very interesting. We walked to these, doable if you are used to hiking. Some people were using bikes/e-bikes which seemed like a great way to get around or of course cars. We couldn’t visit the chambered cairn as it’s not dog friendly apparently.

Excellent cycling from the site. Great access to wonderful beaches. Interesting birds everywhere. Good pizzas at 59 deg north, and cafe and craft at Sanday Community Craft Hub. Sinclair stores has everything. The Heritage Centre at Lady is a must.
