Owners were very welcoming and gave us lots of information on Sanday. Excellent facilities, clean and showers were hot. A proper shower, not just a trickle. The location is wonderful and so peaceful, you can sit for hours on the picnic benches that look out over the bay. Would highly recommend Ayres Rock and would definitely stay again. Thank you Claire and Phil for making our stay so lovely.

Tips for other travellers

Beaches are thoroughly spectacular. Would recommend where you can, walking to some of the beaches especially I’d you have a van or Motorhome as some, although accessible are not kind on vans or motor homes and manoeuvring can be difficult but so worth a visit. The Community Centre craft hub has lovely gifts and a cafe with yummy cakes, drinks, snacks and food.

Only a 3 for facilities as the site is in the process of being upgraded. I'm certain this will be done to a great standard. Claire, the owner is lovely & incredibly helpful. She knows what she wants from the site & I'm sure she'll achieve it.

Tips for other travellers

So much history to be found just walking the beaches. A couple of shops for supplies, though be warned if you need to replace your gas bottle - calor gas isn't a problem, but theres no camping gas on the island, as I found out to my detriment.

Wonderful little cottage. Very cozy and relaxed. Claire and Phil were perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Easily accessible to the main points of interest too.

Tips for other travellers

Plenty to do and see. Depending on what visitors want to do, they may need to be organised and book restaurants, etc prior to their visit. Might help having their own transport but the local bus is bookable!
