What a find, The Reddings did not disappoint. Communication with Jayne the owner was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the website is really helpful too! The cottage is wonderful, spacious, clean and has amazing views. We particularly liked the different seating areas as well as the games and vinyl records/record player, oh and the hot tub simply wonderful! We couldn’t fault it, thanks for a Wonderful stay and all the little touches

Tips for other travellers

We would definitely recommend treatments with Sarah (as per the website) they were wonderful. Also, would recommend the Saracens Head at Simmons Yat, beautiful pub with riverside location …. Fab food and Stunning view. We also visited the Royal Spring pub which is within walking distance of the cottage. The pub is clearly a firm Favourite with locals. Typical homemade pub food and excellent value, we’ve not seen a main course for £10.95 in a long time! Would definitely recommend the homemade deserts!

From booking, right through to check-in and check-out, everything went smoothly. The Property was well equipped (kitchen ware, home entertainment, wi-fi). The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the hot tub/sauna divine! The views, stunning! Beds were comfortable and it really did feel like a home away from home. We hope to return!

Tips for other travellers

Get your food shopping done and cook yourselves- the kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed our stay (x2 adults and x3 children- age 10,12,13). The place is very serene. Feeling recharged and revitalised after our stay. Thank you!

This is a very beautifully situated and tastefully decorated cottage that has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your holiday. The view from the dock, overseeing the valley from above the trees, is magical. The place is super clean and Jayne has been very helpful and responding promptly to our inquiries. We will definitely come back!

Tips for other travellers

You won't be bored coming to Wye Valley Forest Retreat. There are many walks and hikes to do in the area (for instance beavers have recently been released nearby, only 5 min drive from the cottage: https://www.forestryengland.uk/the-forest-dean/beavers-the-forest-dean). But it is also very nice just to hang out on the dock enjoying the view and birdsong, having your day filled with enjoying the hot tub and the sauna.

This is our second stay here, we absolutely love it. The house is so spacious, with amazing facilities and a stunning view. The hot tub is just the best. The beds are so comfortable and theres plenty of space to have 6 people plus dogs comfortably. We will definitely be back!

We got a sainsburys order delivered as there arent many big supermarkets nearby that we could find.
