Friendly and professional customer service, even as busy times. We stayed in the Red Pike appartment and was really impressed with the standard of decor. The only thing missing was a log burner! The only complaint for me was we had an electric vechile and the charging points were out of order for the duration of our stay.

The walks around the neighbouring lakes are a must. We found the food at the walkers bar reasonalby priced and very tasty, especially the cumberland sausgae and mash. All round great place for anyone looking to get away with their furry companion.

We spent our entire week in Buttermere enjoying the comfort of our apartment, venturing out in our walking gear when weather conditions permitted. We brought with us all our provisions for breakfast and lunches, which was fortunate as there are no grocery stores within Buttermere. We really enjoyed our evenings in the hotel’s walkers bar, which served fine home cooked food along with an excellent wine list (and, of course, the usual local ales). Experienced walkers must remember to take their ‘Wainwright Pictorial Guides to Lakeland Fells’ and a jigsaw or two for if and when the wet weather passes through!
