I definitely recommend this hotel. I turned up and they kindly booked the last self catering lodge available. It was clean and bright and just right for me. The hotel is right next door and the staff could not have been nicer.

Tips for other travellers

This is a beautiful spot to stay. It is remote with just two hotels and a cafe but lots of walkers and cyclists turn up. I stayed in the self catering lodge but I ate in the Bridge Hotel bar and it was excellent. The apple crumble was the best I’ve ever tasted. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Like many others, the internet signal is very weak so be prepared for a break from technology!

Nice apartment for the two of us and our Labrador. Convenient location for walks around Buttermere and Crummockwater. Bus stop nearby.Nice food at Bridge Inn across the beck but be aware people smoke in the patio area which is a shame .

Tips for other travellers

Nice trip is to get bus to Crummock Water car park (second stop 77A) , walk along shore path to Swinside Inn at Loweswater village and back on western shore of Crummock water . Also perfect location for easier circular walk around Buttermere shore.

Another brilliant stay at a Bridge Hotel Apartment. All of the hotel services with the added value of the freedom to make your own meals etc! Really cannot fault it.
