We enjoyed a lovely break in Oban staying with Karin and Clive at the Hawthornbank Guest House. We had a charming room which was immaculately clean with a great view of the harbour. Breakfast choice was stunning for a small establishment. Do try the apple cinnamon porridge with maple syrup. Yummy. The hosts are very friendly and genuinely care that their guests are happy. We will definitely return.

Tips for other travellers

Oban is beautiful but apart from the main street, hilly. There is a shortcut to the hotel to avoid the steep hill when you are walking. Hotel provides the detail. Be sure to visit Mull and Iona.
