We have been returning to Anns Cottage and The Old Smithy for many years, a perfect haven for rest and relaxation with the most beautiful scenery - the best there is. You are assured of a very warm welcome and hosts, Ann and Colin, who go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a memorable and enjoyable one. The two cottages are exceptionally comfortable and clean and Ann's breakfasts are legendary.

Tips for other travellers

We love to visit Whitby, fish and chips at Trenchers, York park and ride, pottering around local villages. All local eateries are recommended and Ann and Colin will recommend and book tables for you.

Ann's Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. With a warm welcome from Ann and Colin, fabulous views from the windows and personal breakfast service, nothing is too much trouble. We love the peace and quiet and look forward to each return with great pleasure.

Tips for other travellers

Rosedale Abbey is the nearest village and in the centre is one shop, two cafes and a pub. There is also a lovely tea garden at Dale Head Farm, at the end of the vale. There is information in the cottages to encourage visitors to go out and about, whether it be walking, cycling or driving. Whatever your mobility you can find something to enjoy, especially in the garden watching the birds and wildlife.

Our stay at Ann's Cottage is always a pleasant experience. The cottage is well equipped and there are so many lovely touches such as fresh bread,well cooked breakfasts and generous hospitality.

Excellent comfortable b&b. Ann and colin go above and beyond to make the stay special. Fabulous breakfast choices deliciously cooked. We have stayed here many times and will be back

Tips for other travellers

Great base for the train from Pickering to Whitby. Great walks straight from the b&b. Highly recommend the crown at Hutton le hole, amazing food with great service.
