We enjoyed our stay but I hesitated over recommending you to other travellers. We were very disappointed about the wi-fi, which was was so slow as to be unusable. We also found that HD channels on the television broke up so much that they could not be watched. In fairness when we left the island, there was a BT Openreach van waiting to go over to the island so perhaps there was a problem that was behind this.

Gigha is a great island for walking. We also enjoyed our visit to Achamore Gardens. For food, the Wee Isle Dairy provided some good lunches and the Boathouse restaurant gave us a memorable meal.

We enjoyed our stay very much and loved the decor changes from a previous stay several years ago. A small microwave would have been very useful in the kitchen . The first instruction for the log burner made no sense to us, never having used one before. A previous air flow?? The road to the Steadings remains very rough although a little better than it used to be. We appreciate the island circumstances though. The prompt attention and assistance received following the smoke alarms going off was first class and greatly appreciated.

A takeaway from The Nook beside the shop is a must! Great bacon rolls at The Wee isle Cafe. Lovely skincare products available at GNS shop next to the cafe. Delicious cakes and tablet available from the roadside cabinet. Achamore Gardens are beautiful at any time of year. Be sure to enjoy the stars from the Steadings on a clear night.

Having stayed in all the Trusts self catering properties over the years, this is the best for the larger family/group. Spacious lounge and kitchen diner, good bedrooms with plenty of storage. The two fridges in the kitchen are really handy alongside the freezer. Wi-fi Wii’s a bit sporadic but then if you go to Gigha to “stay connected” then you’re missing the point!

If you’re going to Gigha you know the score; Take waterproofs and swim wear, you are likely to get all sorts of weather! The new path network is a real positive and one of the best developments we’ve seen in the past 20 years. The new Wee Isle Cafe is superb and a real boon given that the hotel is shut presently. Ate at the Boathouse as we have each year since it opened and being honest it wasn’t great but the were through the roof, when you’re paying city prices you expect the very best food and it simply wasn’t this year.
