Julia was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. I arrived a day early (because of Storm Amy) and Julia flexed to accommodate this which was a great help.

Lochedge Lodge is very central for exploring both Harris and Lewis. It has beautiful views over the loch and was a cosy place to come home to at the end of a days exploring beautiful beaches (particularly Luskentyre, Uig and Reef). A boat trip with Seatrek which left from Miavaig (approx 1 hour from Lochedge Lodge) was super with a very knowledgeable guide and sea eagles, seals, hidden beaches and sea caves at Pabbay. There are many community cafes which although have limited menus the staff are so friendly and the cakes.. delicious. Harris brewery at Leverburgh busy place serving great food… the haggis bites were amazing. A tour at Harris Distillery is definitely worth it (Gin or Whisky tours available)… lovely knowledgeable staff providing a warm welcome to the distillery which they are obviously very proud off. I would thoroughly recommend Lochedge Lodge for anyone looking for luxurious comfort and a central base for exploring.

The lodge is a great base for exploring Harris and Lewis. We loved the Harris Brewery, North harbour bistro and Croft 36 northton bakery. The beaches were fabulous and walks around the loch were stunning

We have really enjoyed walking the Harris section of the Hebridean Way, especially the section south east of Tarbert. Waterproof boots a must! Talla Na Mara Community Cafe a great wee place to drop in for a cake and coffee.
