Beautiful room, very comfortable bed and views to die for. Very friendly hosts and delicious breakfast. Crazy dog!! Such a sweetie !!

Tips for other travellers

Everything you could possibly need is available. It is well worth exploring nearby. North Berwick is lovely, as is Haddington with the excellent Waterside bistro.

The lodge was lovely. The bed was really comfy, the shower was great and the hosts were very friendly. Unfortunately the outdoor hot tub wasn't working during our stay, but aside that, everything was great!

It was unfortunate that you were not able to use the hot tub during your stay. We encourage guests to pre-book use of this facility so that we can ensure that everything is ready in advance. Our large cedarwood hot tub commands spectacular panoramic views across Edinburgh, the Forth and surrounding East Lothian countryside and is the perfect place to sit and relax with a 'glass' of bubbles while enjoying the stunning views.

Tips for other travellers

Ensure you ask the Lodge to book you taxis to and from local restaurants well in advance. Obtaining taxis post meal is extremely difficult with long waits. Don’t get too concerned about the website warnings on the satnav post code. There are plenty of Brown road signs around directing you there !

Excellent small hotel in a lovely part of the the countryside. Our room was excellent - a good size, had a very comfortable bed and met all our needs. Breakfast was good. Staff were hospitable and helpful. It provided us with just the few days break that we needed.
