The perfect, quiet and peaceful location to truly get away from it all. The pod was immaculate, the bed so comfortable, and the view of the sea and mountains changes with the weather. Elsie and Derek couldn't have been better hosts - available when needed and respected our privacy. We loved the fire pit too! Can't recommend highly enough.

Tips for other travellers

Take the opportunity to explore as much of the coastline as possible, from the tiny bay at Mealasta, around the cliffs and sea stacks of Mangersta itself, to Carnish and Ardroil beaches. Make good use of the Uig Community Shop which has everything you need, and a visit to either Uig Sand Restaurant or The Edge Cafe are a must - both very different but equally fantastic.

Tips for other travellers

Check the provided information and interesting sites on Uig information map. Use info provided to make the best of your stay. Norse mills and kiln archaeology worth a scramble to see. Amazing flora and fauna if you be still look and listen. Enjoyable in all weathers. Do visit the art gallery.

Derek and Elsie were welcoming and generous with their time, advising on good walks and where best to see birds. The cabin was cosy and the bed comfortable. A wonderful area.

Tips for other travellers

If you get good weather it is a great place and you can see both golden and sea eagles. Beaches are spectacular. However, be prepared for wind, mist and rain which gives you a different experience and a different holiday. Few places to eat out so get organised and book before you go. The Uig community shop is large and has a laundrette. Cabins are walking distance to a beautiful beach and the bothy amongst the cliffs is worth seeing.
