Sheep Pen cottage is such a warm, cosy home from home, we settled in straight away. Literally has everything you could possibly need there, everything tiny detail has been thought of. Everyone we met was lovely, it’s quiet and idyllic setting is all you ask for. Tons of information provided and we had awesome days out too thanks to finding the details in our cottage. We will definitely be back! X

Tips for other travellers

Owners are a well of local knowledge and the cottages are packed with helpful leaflets and advice from previous customers. Hall hill farm, Beamish museum, National glass centre and Diggerland were amongst our favourites and the local pub (Brawn’s den) is lovely with great food.

Comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Very quiet but well-placed to visit local attractions. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Tips for other travellers

Visit the church and castle in Brancepeth - well worth the walk. Drive across the moors to Alston and back via Middleton in Teesdale - lovely trip.

The Brawns Den at Branden excellent food good service 5 min down the road
