One of the best equipped, most comfortable cottage we've ever used and so very welcoming for dogs. As well as the lovely views and walks from the cottage itself, such easy connectivity to lots more of the beautiful north Lake District countryside. We would definitley visit again.

Lots to do within a very short distance - the children loved the Pencil Museum in Keswick while the dogs enjoyed the beach walk at Allenby.

We tried the walk into cockermouth along the river this year. Lovely walk but just be careful of the entrance to the river of the bridge, it's a steep set of stone steps. I would highly recommend Ennerdale water if you are looking for a quiet tranquil walk. We also discovered the Pheasant Inn, Bassenthwaite which was lovely. We also had a takeaway from the Turkish restaurant in Cockermouth which was really nice.
