I love Coldgill. I've had 3 lovely stays over 4 years. Each time, the stay - from booking to leaving - has been comfortable and easy. Everything is so well thought through. I've also had a dog or dogs with me each time and I very much appreciate the pretty tracks and lanes around the house. We have family in Cockermouth so the location is excellent. And Cockermouth is a lovely town. All in all - excellent. Thank you.

Tips for other travellers

We always go to the Bitter End in Cockermouth when we visit. Good pub grub and friendly and cosy. But it's tiny so book ahead. We've now had 3 large family lunches at Hundlith Hall Hotel near Cockermouth. They did us proud, particularly this last visit (May 25) - the food was good and the staff were efficient and friendly.

The cottage is a true home away from home. The kitchen has everything needed and more. So cozy, we weren’t blessed with the best weather for our stay but that did not matter we were very comfortable inside. Lots of walks from the cottage. The beds are all really comfortable, we all slept well. Lesley and Roger were responsive to any questions. We will definitely return when we can.

The village has a lovely community pub which was highly recommended to us by one of the really friendly local residents.
