I think this is our 7th or 8th visit now. Another lovely stay as usual. A real home from home. Perfect location, stunning views, comfortable home.

Tips for other travellers

We discovered a new pub this vist, the Sun Inn in Bassenthwaite. Friendly, lovely food, big outdoor area. Lots of choice on the menu, with dairy free and gluten free options on the menu. Only 20 minutes away. Our favourite lakes are Buttermere and Ennerdale. There are some great walks from the doorstep too. Harris park in Cockermouth has some nice river walks if you don't want to venture far away.

Quiet village location, great secure garden for the dogs and plenty of room inside to spread out and relax. Good base for northern lakes etc

The holiday cottage was well equipped, Lesley & Roger should be very proud to offer this lovely, comfy home from home for others to enjoy, amazing views from the garden, dog friendly

I love Coldgill. I've had 3 lovely stays over 4 years. Each time, the stay - from booking to leaving - has been comfortable and easy. Everything is so well thought through. I've also had a dog or dogs with me each time and I very much appreciate the pretty tracks and lanes around the house. We have family in Cockermouth so the location is excellent. And Cockermouth is a lovely town. All in all - excellent. Thank you.

Tips for other travellers

We always go to the Bitter End in Cockermouth when we visit. Good pub grub and friendly and cosy. But it's tiny so book ahead. We've now had 3 large family lunches at Hundlith Hall Hotel near Cockermouth. They did us proud, particularly this last visit (May 25) - the food was good and the staff were efficient and friendly.
