Location good for general sightseeing, but we found the direct access off busy dual carriageway A40 on to small country lane daunting. Kitchen area very well equipped and host exceptionally helpful. Bed extremely comfortable.

Tips for other travellers

Hen and Dot Cafe at Flanesford Priory delightful. The Granary is perfectly placed for visiting Ross on Wye, Monmouth (lovely town), Ledbury (lots of listed buildings - visit the Painted Room). Lovely drive alongside River Wye to interesting and atmospheric Tintern Abbey. We also enjoyed pottering around the Forest of Dean. Symonds Yat Rock is a real highlight with superb views on a good day.

It’s always nice staying in the Garden Cottage.You get a warm welcome,and a welcoming tea tray ready for a cup tea and cake after your journey. It’s a good comfort cottage,with everything you need for a stay home from home .

Tips for other travellers

The Western Cross pub is a lovely family pub and always delicious for .The garden store in Ross on Wye is a good garden centre to look round .They have a brilliant tea room.Their homemade scones are a must to try .

Very relaxing spot. The Granary had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well after a day’s exploring. The shower could have been better as not much power.

The Garden Cottage is very impressive – compact but well equipped, nicely furnished and decorated throughout. Special mentions to the lovely king sized bed and the warm welcome from Carol and family – very friendly and helpful people. In addition, it is situated overlooking well designed well-kept gardens.
